How to Make Side Money

With the prices of gas and groceries being so high this summer, lots of people are interested in earning some extra money to cover these costs, on top of already holding a part-time or full-time job.

How can I earn money on the side of already holding a full-time job? What are some side hustle ideas to earn some extra cash? Is an extra income sustainable in my spare time? We will go over all this and more down below!

How Can I Make Extra Money?

The question of how you can make extra money is on everyone’s minds right now. As a college student trying to pay tuition and rent, I can attest to this. Saving money and making money now are more important than ever. If you are looking for some money-making ideas, don’t worry! Here are a couple of ways you can earn more money in just a few hours.

Online survey sites are a great way to earn some money online and fast too. Sites like Swagbucks and InboxDollars pay their user’s real cash for taking surveys, watching videos, and even playing games! This is a great way to make money in your spare time. I spend part of my hour lunch break at work completing tasks to earn some extra money.

Putting in just 15 minutes a day adds up. You can realistically bring in an extra $100-300 a month by just taking surveys.

If you are active on social media, you can earn money from your social media accounts. TikTok and YouTube are popular platforms to earn on. They each have minimum requirements you will need to meet before you can be monetized. Social media is a great way to earn extra money online, with little extra work, especially when you enjoy what you are doing.

Can I Earn Extra Cash Taking Online Surveys?

You can earn quite a bit of extra cash by taking surveys online. And there are plenty of sites to do this. Not only can you make money with these online survey websites, but they can save you money too! Here are our top 4 survey websites.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks has a website online and a mobile app. With Swagbucks, users can earn points, aptly called “Swagbucks” for taking surveys, playing games, and even playing live trivia games. Once you have accumulated your desired amount of points they can then be redeemed via PayPal transfer or for gift cards.

InboxDollars

InboxDollars is another survey site similar to Swagbucks. You can make money on InboxDollars by completing short surveys, playing games, searching the web, and even shopping online. InboxDollars also allows its users to save money. When you upload your receipts to the app or website you can earn points for what you have purchased. This is a great way to save/earn money for something you are already doing.

MyPoints

MyPoints is an online site that is focused more on daily rewards earned from shopping either online or in-store when you upload a picture of your receipt. Additionally, you can earn rewards from taking surveys and playing games with MyPoints. This is a great side hustle for people who do a lot of grocery shopping or shopping in general.

Upromise

Last but certainly not least, we have Upromise. Upromise is an online site that allows its users to earn cash back which gets directly deposited into a 529 or college savings account. Users earn cash back for shopping both in-store and online, and even dining at certain restaurants. This is a great way to make extra money for college students trying to pay tuition and their families.

Overall

Taking these surveys online and completing other tasks is a great side hustle, you can make some really good money doing this. Will you bring in $100 a day? Well, that depends on how much time you put in. I would say that $100 a week is more realistic.

Could you earn an extra $1000 a month? Maybe, but I’m not sure it would be sustainable over time. You would have to complete an awful lot of surveys and other offers. A more realistic idea would be between $100-300 a month, depending on how much time you dedicate to it.
